The Silver Linings Project

These are unprecedented times. We may be feeling scared, unsure, anxious, and upset – only able to focus on the constant influx of what seems like bad news. There’s a silver lining in every cloud. And we at NIT want to focus on the good even in the most trying situations. So we’re launching the Silver Linings Project.

How It Works: Every time you see, are the recipient of, or carry out a good deed or act of kindness, we want to know about it! It could be donating masks to community members, bringing dinner to an elderly friend, or simply applauding our brave healthcare workers on the front lines.

Share your positive experience or good deed by sending an email to our COO, Denise Robertson at coo@nitherapy.com with the subject line A SILVER LINING. For each email we receive, $1 (matched by $1) will be added to our donation to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

Our goal is to hit $1000 by May 31, 2020.

If you’d like to contribute without emailing an experience, check out our fundraiser page on Facebook.
Another bonus: The original funder of this campaign pledged up to $500, and a second anonymous donor pledged to match the donation up to an additional $500!
In that spirit, we invite anyone to pledge a contribution (for example: $0.25 per email, or any other amount – be certain to give us the “up to” amount as well). Send your pledges to Denise, too.
We’ll update our progress every week on our Facebook page, website, and LinkedIn!
A little about Northeast Iowa Food Bank: The mission of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank is to provide nutritious food and grocery products to nonprofit organizations and individuals in Northeast Iowa, while offering hunger education programs to the community and those in need.
